Raquel
Meller Square
I call it the square of Raquel Meller but it is not officially true. A man
who was sitting on a bench told me this. Some people call it a square because
there are some benches and flowers and a fountain.
On one of the sides there was a theatre called Arnau. In 1911 was a music
hall., and this gave this area a peculiar atmosphere among other theatres
and varieties.
It is situated in Paralelo, in the Marqués del Duero street. It is
on the Corner of the Conde del Asalto street.
The city became very excited with a young girl. This girl used to sing a
song called "Ven y ven". The name of the girl was Raquel.
The sculptor of the fountain is José Viladomat Massanas. He chose
the Paralelo where the sculpture will be there for ever offering her flowers.
