Plaza
Letamendi
In 1912 the Town Hall asked the sculptor Alentorn to make a fountain with
the figure of a farm lady whose earthenware pitcher got broken. She was
very upset for what has happened. The lady was not going to get water because
it was her job but because she wanted to give that present to her family.
Nice water for lunch. That is why she was not used to carry the cantaro
and got brooken. This fountain was thought for this square.
The square has a lot of places to sit and to relax. There are big trees
and shadow if it is very hot. It is dedicated to a doctor and it is situated
on the corner of Aragón Street and Enric Granados. It is a special
square and it is divided by Aragon Street and there is one side of the square
in both sides of the road. Aragon Street is a very important street. There
are many beautiful houses and also a lot of commerce, modernism and gren
areas though there are very few. There are always many children playing
there.
