PLAZA RIUS I TAULET
Rius I Taulet's square is in
the neighbourhood of Gràcia, an old village of Barcelona. It was
built in 1870 but the project was written in 1841. The square has a long
tower in the centre. The tower is 30 metres high. This tower has a lovely
bell that can be heard from far away. On the base of the tower there is
a fountain from 1800's called the tower of the hours and on March 1st
there is a popular parade of Sant Medin and they through thousands of
weets along the neighbourhood. The square is approximately 45X60 metres
long. In the square there are a lot of bars and shops but also you can
find typical cafes where old people go to play domino and on Sundays you
can see people dance "Sardanes", a typical dance from Catalonia.
At present, at night the square becomes a meeting point for young people.
