Square
PLAZA DEL PADRÓ

Plaza del Padró is situated in the former emplacement of the cemetery of the Romanesque church of San Lázaro in Raval. In the centre of the square is the fountain of Saint Eulalia. It is an obelisk crowned by the patron virgin of Sarrià. This fountain was originally a monument that dates back to an order realized by the Consell de Cent in 1670, and that with the time has suffered many changes until the 19th century when the fountain was incorporated into the monument. In 1936 it was destroyed, but a neighbour kept the head of the statue with which they could reconstruct the statue and to leave her as it is now.
I have chosen this fountain because in this square I pass a lot of time contemplating it, hanging out. Sitting down on one side of the square, I disconnect from the reality that surrounds me and can enjoy the peace that it inspires me.
