The old street lamps which
used to be outside the chemistries were very special. This one in Muntaner
street is unique. It's cylindrical and it looks medieval. The author was
the architect Pericas which who is considered a Modernist. It is a pity
that the it is a bit dirty and it is not very well kept.
This street lamp was made for
the chemistry of a doctor called Espinós. The chemistry was inagurated
in 1911. When this chemistry was closed, the lamp and other elements of
decoration were moved to the new chemistry in Muntaner street which open
in 1923. I think it is lovely.
