The Golfillo is a public fountain,
crowned by the figure of a child made of bronze, in an informal and uninhibited
position.
He is sitting on a stone and he has a foot made of bronze.
It is located in Ronda Universitat with Pelayo. The artistic fountains were
originated by the council.
The sculptor José Campeny Santamaria built it in 1912. The sculptor
chose a model in one of the old neighbourhood.
This public fountain located in plaza Universitat is waiting for the students
to come and get refreshed and also for the girls who were working in the
big stores of the area.
It is such a nice fountain that it makes you smile when you look at it.
The boy looks friendly and happy and makes you think that life is not so
hard.
