The fountain of Santa Anna
is located at the end of the avenue "Portal de l'Àngel",
where the Palace of Marimon-Caldes is placed. The square of Santa Anna
is one of the most picturesque corners in Barcelona. The fountain has
an octagonal shape and was built in 1356, but restored during the Neoclassic
period. In 1918 it was decorated with small multicolour bricks by the
painter and ceramist Josep Aragay. In its corner there's still a watering
place for cattle.
