This
balcony with tribune takes part of the building Casa Macaya built by Josep
Puig I Cadafalch in 1902. It is a modernist building which reminds us of
the rural house of Catalonia (Masia).
This tribune was thought to be a place where people could sit and look at
the street. It is very much ornamented with columns of different styles
and flowery elements specifically of this period of time. It is built over
a wall with great scratch work.
Today this building is the site of a well know cultural foundation called
La Caixa and it holds different exhibitions and conferences all around the
year.
It is located in a very well communicated street called Passeig de Sant
Joan 108.
