Andreu Garriga Bachs donated one of his houses so that a monument could be built there. It's called the Monument to the Martyrs.
It is devoted to the people from Barcelona who fought against Napoleon and were executed. They become the heroes of the Independence War.
This monument is a bronze sculpture made by Josep Llimona. The stone angel placed on the wall was designed by Vicenç Navarro and inaugurated in 1941. It belongs to the Gothic Square of Barcelona.
It is very close to Plaça Nova and Plaça Sant Jaume and on the opposite side of the cloister of the beautiful C
