	Shepherd with flute is a nice sculpture in Catalonia Square made in 1928.There was a competition and many sculptures were made. Some of them took part in the design of the square and some others were placed in Palau de Pedralbes, Montjuic and Parc de la Ciutadella. This is the statue I like most and it is a shepherd who looks very happy playing the flute. It is near other statues but I can't tell you about the others. I know they are all from different artists and all are very famous. Gargallo es the author of the sculpture. He was born in 1881 in Maella (Aragón). He was related to Picasso and Nonel. He took part in Palau de la musica and Sant Pau Hospital. He used to sculpture in stone, bronze and other materials. His figures go beyond the strict copy of reality as we can see in the Shepherd with the flute.
