	The famous Arc de Triomf of Barcelona, located in de long avenue of Lluís Companys, was designed by the famous Catalan architect Josep Vilaseca in 1887. This enormous arch with the same shape and characteristics of the typical roman arches was built to symbolize the main gate to the Universal Exposition of 1888. It was decorated on the top with some sculptures and an inscription by the sculptor Josep Peynés, which declares: "Barcelona welcomes all the nations".
