| Among
all the fountains in Barcelona, "The Turtle" is one of those which
supplies people drinkable water. It is located in Plaça Sepúlveda
and consist of three fountains designed by the sculptor Eduard B. Alentorn.
He liked children very much and, though the space for children is reduced,
the bronze sculptor shows two children playing with a turtle. There are
flower-beds around the fountain and the square is surrounded by modern buildings.
The streets near this square were very popular some time ago. The real name
of the square is "Goya" but people call it "Plaça
Sepúlveda". |
