The Teatre lliure
also called Palau of the agriculture was created for the International
Exhibition of 1929. The authors were Josep M. Ribas and Manuel M Mayol
Ferrer that created a singular building of nuevocentismo - mediterranista.
Nowadays it is considered historical - artistic monument of national interest.
The theatre was created in 1976 by a group of professionals linked to the Independent theatre, the teatre lliure was distinguished by its bet by the theatre of text developing in a room programming that was alternating theatre with dance and music. Along the history the theatre has been acquiring a wide public and a recognition of the critique thanks to the team of people working together.
The teatre lluire was one of the founders of the Union of European theatres. With this it started to be known all over the world. Also it has joined productions with the Hebber theatre of Berlin, The Salzburg festival, The Greek festival of Barcelona.
The teatre lluire nowadays combines a wide variety of contemporary dance and scenic music. It is really beautiful.
